Peter Watt is a psychologist with expertise in delivering gut-directed hypnotherapy. He is a mature and approachable practitioner whose knowledge equips him to work with a broad range of patient presentations.
Peter has a long-held interest in conditions affected by brain gut interactions and has published peer-reviewed papers in IBD related health psychology and program development. He was pleased to hold the sole psychologist position within a multidisciplinary IBD outpatient service in Western Australia prior to moving to Melbourne and joining the Mind + Gut Clinic. Peter appreciates the importance of multi-disciplinary care in patients with functional and organic gastrointestinal disease. He has three decades of experience in government, community and private practice settings.
Peter qualified as a psychologist in Western Australia and then trained as a psychotherapist in Victoria. He holds registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Peter enjoys working with patients with complex mental health conditions and co-morbid chronic disease.
