Elle Gat is a psychologist who often uses gut-directed hypnotherapy in her practice. She is a warm and approachable therapist with 14 years’ experience in government settings and private practice.
Elle has a particular interest in the brain-gut axis and links between the emotional and cognitive centres of the brain with gastrointestinal function. She has worked with individuals in the advanced stages of chronic gastrointestinal disease and is passionate about improving quality of life through the use of evidence-based practice.
Elle has experience working within the modalities of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy, Mindfulness and Acceptance Commitment Therapy. She attained her Masters of Counselling Psychology through Swinburne University as well as an Advanced Certificate in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Elle holds memberships with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Elle believes in the power of a positive state of mind and is a zealous advocate for her patients. The realisation that body and mind must come together is the first step to better physical and mental health.
