Dakota Rhys-Jones is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with a keen interest in the effects of diet on gastrointestinal conditions. She completed a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics from Monash University and since then has worked in a wide variety of both clinical and non-clinical areas in both regional and metropolitan settings.
Dakota worked for the Monash FODMAP group where she gained exceptional knowledge of the low FODMAP diet and IBS. She also ran clinical trials between the Department of Gastroenterology and hypertension research laboratory, which sparked an interest in nutrition research and translating results from trials to evidence-based practice. This has led to her now completing a PhD with Monash University, investigating the effects of diet on patients with a nileoanal pouch. Dakota combines her research knowledge with empathetic nature to ensure patients feel safe in her care and have the best possible outcomes.
