Melinda Kennedy is a Psychologist and Clinical Hypnotherapist specialising in the psychological management of gastrointestinal conditions. She is warm, compassionate and takes a holistic view of health.
Melinda has a keen interest in new developments to our understanding of the relationship between the mind and the gut including the influence of mental health and wellbeing.
Melinda has worked as a psychologist and hypnotherapist in not-for-profit, public service and private practice settings with patients with acute and chronic health problems for 25 years.
Melinda studied psychology at the University of Ballarat before completing Honours in adolescent psychology at RMIT. Her research focused on adolescent eating disorders, which continues to be one of her special interest areas. Melinda holds memberships with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and The Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Melinda aims to assist patients gain a greater sense of clarity about their physical and psychological health to help reduce or better manage their gastrointestinal and psychological symptoms.
Melinda sees adolescents and adults at the Mind + Gut Clinic in St Kilda East, Victoria.
